Aksaray University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Philosophy opened after the completion of the necessary legal and academic processes, it was deemed appropriate with the decision taken by the Council of Higher Education on 05.12.2012. The department has met the requirements for internal structuring on three major scientific branches and preparations for the transition to teaching in the 2013-2014 Academic Year have been initiated. Shortly after the opening of the department was approved by the General Assembly of the Higher Education dated 18.04.2013 and the first philosophy students to be graduated from Aksaray University in 2013-2014 academic year were admitted.

Of course, all of our academic and administrative teams are happy to have been registered in the Department of Philosophy that they have been qualified to teach only four and a half months after their establishment, Our five-year strategic plan has been shaped by the desire to multiply our happiness that we have contributed to the organization we belong to, and therefore to fulfill our own functions. For our department, this means that our Undergraduate Program is first offered with a rich and quality content, so students who graduate from our department can be well trained and compete with colleagues graduated from other universities. We have also set as an important goal to establish the conditions for opening the Graduate Programs in our strategic plan to provide options and opportunities for those who wish to continue their academic development in the philosophy and to graduate from the Undergraduate Program and the Undergraduate Programs of the various departments of both our universities and other universities and to expand and deepen our academic activities. Our plan integrates the objective of enriching the academic philosophical equipment of our students with a multidisciplinary approach which is necessary for our students with an understanding of activity that always aims to improve in academic necessity and competence in this framework. Our faculty members located in the department is interested in the different fields of philosophy. Our department currently continues its education with 1 Associate Professor, 2 Assistant Professors and 4 Research Assistants.
